The low-code advantage, and when it fits vs custom code
A canvas app that would take a full-stack team three sprints to build by hand can be a working first version in a Power Platform developer's hands within a week, because the form builder, the connectors to your existing systems, and the mobile shell already exist. For an internal tool forty people will use, that is not a compromise. It is the correct engineering decision. You are not going to out-build Microsoft's own form renderer and approval engine for an expense report, and trying to would waste a good engineer's time on plumbing that already ships.
Low-code stops being the right tool in three situations: a genuinely public-facing product with heavy custom interface work, an app that needs to scale past Dataverse's row and API limits, or logic complex enough that the developer is fighting the canvas more than using it.
